About Our School

Lakewood Middle School opened in the fall of 1995. Our school serves students in grades 6-8 in the rural community of Lakewood, Washington in north Snohomish County. Lakewood School District includes the rural Seven Lakes area and also Smokey Point, a suburban area adjacent to the I-5 corridor. Lakewood Middle School has 32 classrooms, a gymnasium, commons which doubles as our lunchroom, choir room, band room, library, a new STEM lab with two classrooms and shop space, counseling center, and office facilities. Many of our classrooms have Chromebook carts for students to use on a regular basis.  Students at LMS take great pride in their school buildings and grounds. Our facilities are used regularly by community groups. Beyond core academic classes, students have a wide variety of elective opportunities such as choir, band, leadership, drama, engineering, robotics, art, and more. In addition, students have opportunities to participate in after-school sports activities including cross country, volleyball, basketball, soccer, wrestling, softball, and track. The LMS learning community values being prepared, respectful, inclusive, determined, and overall excellence.
